who we are

SAS Events (formally known as Sonny Adams Staging) are a family run events hire and fabrication company based in Melbourne, Victoria. During our almost 20 years in the events industry we’ve provided services for many of Melbourne’s best event planners, designers and venues.

 

We’re well versed on small and large scale projects, with even bigger ambitions. Our specialties include galas & fundraisers, corporate events, weddings, product launches, art projections & exhibitions, and other social gatherings. 

 

Whatever the brief or concept, we will always deliver on time and on budget.

what makes us different

We have almost 20 years experience working with many of Melbourne’s best giving us the expert knowledge (and products) you need for your event. We value our client relationships and put client satisfaction on the top of our list. We work hard with a smile. We’re safety conscious (for our staff and your event goers). Our decor and draping hire range is always designed and mostly custom built in-house. We make sure we’re contributing to the local economy by sourcing our materials from Australian businesses, where possible. Our design team is on trend and on point. Our fabrication skills are vast. And we’re also working on being as sustainable and low-impact on the environment as possible.

areas we service

Our installation services cover Greater Melbourne, Macedon Ranges, down west to Geelong, and down east along the Mornington Peninsula. However, we are known to travel for exciting projects out of these areas.

 

Delivery of dry hire services are restricted to the Greater Melbourne area and the Macedon Ranges (delivery fees apply). Pick up of dry hire services is limited only by the distance you’re willing to travel to pick them up and return them.

Tannya Pearson, Business Manager

Joining the family business in early 2017, Tannya is responsible for all things relating to business administration, compliance, collaborations, marketing and project management.

 

Tannya has lived and worked throughout the many corners of Australia and the UK, and her expertise span over a wide range of skills. Initially starting out her professional working life as a photographer, she has since worked as a business and project manager across the arts, corporate business, charity, sustainability and finance industries during the  past 13 years.

Ben Taylor, Op’s & Design Manager

Ben is a qualified and experienced rigger, draftsman and design extraordinaire. Along with being SAS’ Head of Design, Ben also manages our onsite event installation operations. Since joining SAS in 2013 Ben has been the overseer of the organisation and installation of draping, props & decor for over 150 major events, including the Nine Network Logie Awards; fundraising galas for the My Room Gala Ball and Starry Starry Night for the Alannah & Madeleine Foundation; and EMG’s Lorem Ipsum annual events.

 

Prior to working for SAS, Ben worked as an experienced rigger and mechanical fitter in the construction and oil & gas industries making him equipped to understand and execute all logistical and safety requirements. Ben is also an accomplished graphic designer and illustrator, selling and exhibiting his own works.
